Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Effective communication skills.
• Retail experience is desirable.
• Second language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about store products and services.
• Know products in the department and respond with suggestions.
• Recommend groceries to meet customer needs and inform about specials.
• Check product quality and freshness, review dates, take action.
• Label, stock and inventory merchandise and keep customers stocked with fresh items.
• Report discrepancies in ordering/shipping to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Stay current with ads and promotions (seasonal and special).
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and log temperatures.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs needed to management.
• Notify management of accidents or safety issues.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity (e.g., theft).
• Must perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
