Position Purpose:

Exemplifies strong customer service in every aspect of the job. Supervises and participates in all night crew activities; communicates with Grocery Manager or Store Director, monitors and complies with Company policies, compiles Department orders and inventories.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

1. Assist the Grocery Manager in directing the operation of the grocery department, including supervising and training personnel on the night crew.
2. Supervise and participate in all night crew activities to maximize sales, earnings, and customer satisfaction. Report incidents requiring discipline to the Grocery Manager and Store Director. Communicate with management on night crew activities. Train and supervise associates in all night crew policies and procedures. Supervise the total store on the night crew as directed.
3. Maintain the quality condition of all products: rotate, stock, face products, discard out-of-code and spoiled products, and maintain the backroom. Clean and dust shelves.
4. Assist in ordering, receiving, storing, stocking, inventory control, and building displays. Operate related equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and ladders. Maintain a safe, secure, and sanitary environment.
5. Assist in planning and organizing merchandise requirements and special sales needs.
6. Ensure proper inventory levels through verifying orders against invoices, auditing product cases, and completing reports accurately.
7. Implement company policies related to operations and merchandising. Control shrink, prevent damage, and ensure product safety. Assist in reclamation processes.
8. Foster an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer service. Handle vendor relations positively.
9. Implement loss prevention and security policies during after hours.
10. Perform all duties accurately, safely, and with integrity.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills And Physical Requirements

• Be friendly and courteous. Take initiative and maintain composure when dealing with customers, co-workers, and vendors. Handle interruptions and complaints effectively.
• Work well as part of a team and independently without supervision when the store is closed.
• Have good oral and written communication skills.
• Stand and walk for long periods. Reach, lift, and maneuver objects up to approximately 80 lbs., including climbing ladders and using safety cutters.
• Maintain mental alertness for safe and accurate work, including repetitive tasks.
• Have basic knowledge of mathematics, inventory control, and shipping/receiving procedures.
• Demonstrate good eye-hand coordination and mental dexterity.
• Work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. Cover various store positions as needed. Attend regularly.
• Follow emergency procedures for equipment and software issues.
• Adhere to grooming and dress code standards.

Work Environment

• Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
• Occasional exposure to temperatures of 28˚F in coolers and -20˚F in freezers.
• Work in a temperature-controlled environment with occasional outdoor exposure.
