Job Description

Job Title: Night Stocker

Department: Grocery

FLSA: Non-Exempt

General Function

Unloads product, opens containers, stocks shelves, and rotates product where necessary.

Reporting Relations

Reports to: District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of HWH, Perishables, Store Operations and eCommerce, Night Stock Manager. No positions report to you.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all interactions.
  • Greets customers in a friendly manner and assists with their needs, such as locating products, securing out-of-reach items, loading heavy items, and enhancing the shopping experience.
  • Answers the phone promptly and provides helpful service.
  • Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Unloads trucks, stocks shelves, rotates products, and monitors for mis-picks and wrong deliveries.
  • Organizes stock efficiently, cleans, and restocks damaged items.
  • Tags shelves and reports new or different items for system input.
  • Maintains personal hygiene and dress according to guidelines.
  • Adheres to company policies and reports to work on time and for the scheduled hours.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists in other store areas as needed.
  • Performs additional duties and projects as required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and demonstrated instructions, and request supplies as needed.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; six months or less related work experience.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to perform very heavy work, exerting over 100 pounds of force occasionally, over 50 pounds frequently, and over 20 pounds constantly.
  • Vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet, with or without correction, including depth perception and color vision.
  • Physical activities include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions

Exposed to dirt, noise, equipment movement hazards, chemicals/solvents, temperature extremes, and electrical shock occasionally.

Equipment Used

Power jack, compactor, order machine, check register, forklift, scales, and Tomra machines.

Financial Responsibility

Responsible for supplies, stock, and checking the cooler.

Contacts

Daily contact with community organizations, suppliers/vendors, and customers.
