Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans, LA is seeking a Polysomnography Technologist to prepare the sleep lab, set up patients and conduct basic to advanced sleep studies. You will assist in training other staff and ensure quality patient care in a busy night-shift environment.

Requirements include a CAAHEP Polysomnography program graduate or 6+ months sleep medicine experience, plus BLS and state licensure credentials (RPSGT/BRPT or equivalent). The role supports hospital scope in Louisiana.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CAAHEP Polysomnography Program or a minimum of 6 months of experience in sleep medicine or respiratory procedures.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current license as Polysomnographic Technologist by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and/or
• Registered as a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or equivalent Sleep Medicine board credentials.

Responsibilities

• The Polysomnography Technologist is responsible for preparing the lab for patients, patient set up and performing basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies.
• Assists in the orientation and training of other staff in the department.

Education

CAAHEP Polysomnography program

6 months experience in sleep medicine/respiratory procedures

BLS (AHA)

LSBME Polysomnographic Technologist license

RPSGT/BRPT or ABMS Sleep Board eligibility

Licensed Respiratory Therapist (LRT)
