Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a Vehicle/Equipment Operator - Journey to provide safe point-to-point and shuttle transportation across the campus community. The role involves driving and dispatching a range of fleet vehicles and coordinating with the transit system to meet campus needs.

Applicants must hold a NC CDL Class B with a passenger endorsement (P) and air brake, and be able to assist passengers with mobility devices. Night shifts and overnight overtime may apply.

Qualifications

• Requires appropriate licenses or certifications to operate assigned vehicles.
• Previous Shuttle And Dispatch Experience preferred.
• Familiarity with UNC campus and NC CDL Class B with a (P) passenger and air brake endorsement.
• Must be able to operate an ADA Lift equipped van and assist patrons for an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

• Drive or dispatch the Point to Point (P2P) transportation system for campus community.
• Operate ADA lift‑equipped van and 25ft/40ft buses.
• Work 10:00PM–6:00AM, Sunday–Thursday, with overtime as needed.
• Provide passenger assistance and ensure safety during on-demand services.
