Job summary

Bendel Tank and Heat Exchanger, an industry leader in custom vessels, seeks a skilled Welder/Fabricator for night shift (6pm–6am, M-Th) in Charlotte, NC. You will read blueprints to fabricate and weld SS, CS, and high-nickel components using TIG, MIG, and plasma cutting techniques with emphasis on quality and safety.

Candidates must pass ASME 6G and 2G tests, pass drug/background checks, and lift up to 50 lbs. OT possible based on workload.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and interpret drawings to plan layouts (≤140 chars).
• Must pass ASME 6G SCH.80 (SA312TP316L) 2" pipe test using GTAW (GTAW).
• Must pass ASME 2G plate tests (SA36 & SA240-304) using GMAW.
• Must pass a drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
• Use TIG, MIG, and Plasma cutters.
• Fit, fabricate and weld components to tanks and vessels such as nozzles, manways, ladders, handrails, and platforms.
• Weld in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Maintain equipment and ensure safety and good housekeeping.
• Work 40 hrs/week plus OT; current 48 hrs/wk.
• Collaborate with team to ensure top quality welding on SS, CS, and high nickel alloys.
