Job summary

Morton Salt is seeking an entry-level utility worker to perform a variety of tasks in the mill and warehouse, including operating packaging equipment, handling salt bags, forklift movements, and keeping work areas clean. After the probationary period, the position may bid into specific openings within the facility.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer literacy, a safety mindset, and be at least 18. Prior manufacturing or forklift experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years or older and committed to safety.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• Previous manufacturing or forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks within the mill and warehouse, including filling poly bags with salt, sealing them with a heat sealer, and palletizing finished products.
• Operate forklift to move and transport product/materials within the plant and operate packaging equipment to ensure timely shipment of quality products.
• Complete tasks such as cleaning, sweeping, sanitizing, cleaning bins, unloading materials, restocking packing materials, labeling, and waste disposal.
• Assist higher classification workers in performing their tasks.
• Support and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
