Job summary

NCH Healthcare System is seeking a Unit Secretary to support the 3W Medical-Surgical department at Health Park Naples.

You will coordinate physician orders, enter nursing orders into PowerChart, maintain unit records, assist with admissions, discharges and transfers, and provide courteous, timely patient communication. Must have a high school diploma and proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to multitask in a clinical unit.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates and coordinates physician orders and enters nursing orders into PowerChart.
• Maintains supplies, prepares reports and unit records.
• Assists admissions, discharges and transfers, including hospital transfers.
• Maintains patient records and ensures confidentiality per policy.
• Answers patient call lights promptly and communicates needs to staff.
• Greets visitors and directs them to appropriate departments.
• Restocks department supplies and demonstrates strong organizational skills.
• multitask effectively in a busy unit.
