Qualifications

• Experience with medical files and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provide clerical services to patient care units and transcribe orders accurately.
• Answer phones and relay messages promptly and clearly.
• Maintain close communication with the Charge Nurse/House Supervisor.
• Handle all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
• Order supplies from Materials Management.
• Verify physician privileges prior to transcribing orders.
• Arrange transport of patients for tests not offered in the hospital.
