Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Night Shift RN for a PCU/Telemetry position in Texas. You will provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, and vasoactive drips in a Level II trauma-capable facility, with a 7:00 PM–7:00 AM schedule and 1:4 patient ratios.

Travelers may float between sister facilities; benefits include health/dental/vision, housing allowance, licensure reimbursement, and per diem; first-time travelers welcome.

Qualifications

• Active Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent PCU/Telemetry experience.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care.
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration not required) and heparin protocols.
• Experience with oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management.
• Experience with insulin drip titration and isolation precautions/PPE required.
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• PCU unit within a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center hospital.
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Floating between units required.
• Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Epic charting system required.
• Provide telemetry and cardiac monitoring care within a progressive care/stepdown unit setting.
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed.
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day).
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location.
• Dress code requires solid navy blue scrub attire for licensed nursing personnel.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Former employees of the health system may return after a 3-month waiting period and must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility.
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel pay rate.
