Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a night shift in New Albany, Indiana. IN or Compact RN license and BLS/ACLS are required; ADN/ASN with BSN preferred. No experience required, but oncology/chemotherapy certification helps. Travel-friendly, 3x12s, weekends/holidays included.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (IN or Compact)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• ONS Chemotherapy Administration Provider Card preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Inpatient Medical Oncology unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30p-7a)
• 36 hours per week over 3 days
• Schedule includes weekends and holidays
• Provides comprehensive patient assessments, treatments, and care coordination across the nursing process
• Facilitates admission, transfer, and discharge activities including patient and family education
• Delegates and oversees tasks performed by other care team members
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTI prevention
• Collaborates closely with interdisciplinary care team members
