Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift contract requiring Level 1 Trauma and Epic EMR experience. This position is for a Level 1 Trauma hospital setting with night hours and 3x12 shifts.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, med administration, and care planning while utilizing Epic EMR for charting. Illinois RN license and BLS are required, with travel and housing allowances offered.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp license accepted).
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience.
• ASN required, BSN preferred.
• Level 1 Trauma experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Medical/Surgical unit within a Level 1 Trauma hospital setting.
• Night shift schedule, 7:00PM - 7:30AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week.
• Six weekend shifts per six-week schedule.
• Every other holiday coverage required.
• Float to similar units as needed.
• Uses Epic EMR for charting.
• Provide direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, care planning, and patient education following Carle Med/Surg documentation standards.
• Receive bedside shift report and validate safe patient room environment at each shift change.
• Delegate and validate completion of patient care tasks with Health Care Technicians (HCTs)
• Maintain patient safety priorities including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and isolation precautions
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care and support timely admission/discharge processes
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Prior Carle Health contingent workers must complete a 6-month break in service after 1 year before returning to any Carle Health location
