Hanker Systems, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Bakersfield, CA. Night shift, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, delivering urgent/emergency and general nursing care in a hospital setting.

Required: Active California RN License and BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Responsibilities include comprehensive emergency assessments, care planning, medication administration, patient education, and collaboration with physicians, respiratory, pharmacy, and other teams to ensure safe discharge.

Qualifications

• Active California RN License.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive emergency assessments and triage patients based on acuity.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans using the nursing process.
• Deliver emergency nursing care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Monitor patient conditions and recognize changes requiring immediate intervention.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments as ordered.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacy, radiology, laboratory, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Respond to critical situations including trauma, cardiac emergencies, respiratory distress, and neurological events.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, procedures, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegate and supervise support staff appropriately.
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to hospital policies and regulatory standards.
