Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN for a night shift travel contract requiring PALS certification and NC or Compact licensure.

The role involves Pediatric MedSurg care on a 13-week assignment with 3x12-hour nights (19:00–07:30) and bi-weekly orientation. Open to first-time travelers; local candidates within 75 miles may receive a reduced rate.

Vaccination is required and references must meet criteria; special terms apply for intra-health system hires and time-off limits.

Qualifications

• Active NC or Compact RN license required in hand.
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Experience with pediatric dosing, IV therapy and line care.
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and oxygen delivery.
• Experience with neurologic conditions and seizure management.
• Wound care, isolation precautions and PPE use required.
• Cardiovascular monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and PEWS/Rapid Response knowledge.
• One supervisory reference from within the last year required.

Responsibilities

• Pediatric MedSurg unit setting.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30).
• 13-week contract assignment.
• Required to work every other weekend.
• Orientation held bi-weekly.
• Provide comprehensive pediatric nursing care across medical, respiratory, neurologic, GI and cardiovascular needs.
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions.
• First-time travelers welcome to apply.
• Local candidates within 75-mile radius may receive reduced rate.
• Past employment with this health system must not be within last 6 months.
• RTO limited to 5–7 days maximum.
