Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a night shift MRI Technologist with 5+ years of experience and ARRT MR certification to perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures in a hospital setting.

The role includes 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM, Fri–Sun), with call, weekend, and holiday coverage. Required credentials include ARRT MR, BLS, and JRCERT-accredited radiology education; KBMIRT MR license if applicable. Strong attention to safety and documentation is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of MRI Technologist experience.
• 1 year of mammography diagnostic experience.
• Associate's degree from a JRCERT accredited Radiology Program.
• BLS certification required.
• ARRT Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) certification required.
• KBMIRT MR License required if applicable.
• Must maintain continuing education hours as required by licensing agency.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Outstanding eye-hand coordination and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based MRI department.
• 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Friday through Sunday.
• Call, weekend, and holiday coverage required.
• Performs MRI procedures, computer processing, and related imaging techniques for Radiologist interpretation.
• Verifies orders, patient identity, history, and documents MRI screening questions and implant information in the EHR.
• Performs and documents peripheral venipuncture and time-out procedures for invasive exams.
• Monitors patients throughout exams and maintains MRI Safety Zone compliance.
• Produces quality images for Radiologist review and verifies images archived to PACS.
• Sends images to tele-radiology service after hours as instructed.
• Assists with staff training, competency, and supervision of imaging students during clinical rotations.
• Completes quality control checks for assigned rooms including room, humidity, and temperature checks.
• Collaborates with Lead MRI Technologist, MRI Coordinator, Radiology Manager, and Radiologists on protocols and accreditation needs.
• Radius rule of 75 miles applies, with local candidates accepted at a lower rate.
• Last 4 digits of SSN and month/day of date of birth required for consideration.
