Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a Clinical Nurse II for the General Surgery/Trauma unit on the night shift. The role is part-time and based at 43 New Scotland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208.

Responsibilities include executing orders, IV starts, medications, and ongoing patient assessment, with collaboration across the nursing team to implement a care plan. Minimum qualifications include an NYS RN license, BLS/ACLS certification, and 1-3 years of Med-Surg or Progressive Care RN experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• 1-3 years of RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
• Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments and tests, and documents care as required by policy and regulations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
• Assesses patient needs and responses to care; applies nursing judgment in care decisions.
• Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses and collaborates on a Plan of Care.
• Directs and guides ancillary staff while maintaining professional standards.
