J Polep Distribution Service, a division of National Convenience Distributors, is seeking a Transportation Dispatcher in Chicopee, MA for a night shift (12 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.). The role includes dispatching drivers, scheduling loads, and ensuring timely customer deliveries with occasional overtime.

The position requires DOT knowledge, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Office. CDL preferred; benefits include medical/dental, 401(k), life and disability coverage, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills; excellent attention to detail and decision making skills.
• Basic working knowledge of menu driven computer applications including MS Office
• Team oriented with good interpersonal skills; Can-do attitude, Get-it-done frame of mind
• Self-motivating and innovative Think outside the box
• Knowledge of DOT regulations
• Comfortable working with customers as well as sales, accounting and other departments.
• Able to work in a warehouse terminal environment.
• Commercial Drivers License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dispatching drivers
• Manage load assignments
• Coordinate workflow to ensure timely and accurate customer deliveries.
• Support daily driver activities including safety, DOT compliance, and management of deliveries
• Provide feedback to drivers on performance and safety.
• Daily monitoring of fleet drivers for route performance and adherence to planned route
• Answering phones and emails
• Work with vendors for repair of equipment
• Communicating updates on delivery times.
