Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is hiring a Toolmaker for the 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 11:00pm–7:00am) in Decorah, IA. Pay rate starts at $23.23 per hour plus a $2.25 shift premium. The position involves reading blueprints, learning toolroom equipment, and supporting header tooling for fastener manufacturing.

You will follow ISO/IATF16949 standards, aim for quality, and work under supervision to meet production goals. Safety, cleanliness, and overtime readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or GED; strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
• Knowledge of IATF16949 and ISO14001 quality systems is preferred.
• Experience with header or tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and use gauges to make and rework header and secondary tooling.
• Operate and understand toolroom equipment and set ups per die prints.
• Maintain tooling backups to reduce downtime and improve production efficiency.
• Follow ISO/IATF16949, SPC procedures and safety guidelines.
• Assist header operators with tooling needs to ensure parts meet tolerances.
• Interpret tooling and production prints and select required tools.
• Initiate TC/Rs and ECs to improve tooling designs and setup sheets.
