American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a busy telemetry unit in Kentucky. A KY or compact RN license and BLS certification are required. ADN/ASN is required, BSN preferred.

New grads welcome; dysrhythmia competency validation is required. The role involves 42-bed telemetry with complex patients and transfer coordination. The schedule is 3x12-hour nights (7p-7a) with weekends/holidays as needed, at 0.9 FTE.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required.
• BLS certification required.
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred.
• No prior experience required, though nursing experience and recent acute care preferred.
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required.
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement safety devices.

Responsibilities

• Work on 42-bed telemetry unit with complex patients.
• Care for palliative, colorectal surgeries with ERAS, and MDRO patients.
• Receive patient transfers from ICU, ED, and PACU.
• 3rd shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7p–7a.
• Weekends and holidays as needed; 0.9 FTE.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document per policy.
• Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities.
• Provide patient and family education and care coordination.
• Delegate and oversee team members in care activities.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and core measures.
• Promote a positive, healing environment through teamwork.
