Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Completed hospital telemetry class with post-test within 30 days of hire.
• Basic computer skills to operate a PC and document data.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report significant changes in heart rate, abnormalities, and arrhythmias to the nursing staff.
• Initiate 'Code Blue' for life-threatening rhythm changes.
• Differentiate artifact from real alarms.
• Escalate telemetry alerts and communicate clearly to nursing staff and physicians.
• Maintain confidentiality of patients and hospital information.
• Perform hand-offs to oncoming shift with pertinent telemetry details.
• Operate monitoring equipment safely and correctly.
