Job Description

The role oversees and directs all field construction activities for assigned craft areas, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates. It requires a thorough knowledge of the work, the ability to manage complex situations through analysis and planning, and a commitment to Fluor’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and direct work activities of all crafts in alignment with engineering deliverables, tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Coordinate craft personnel, material, and equipment to meet schedules, including crew organization and qualification levels.
  • Support project and construction management with planning and utilization of appropriate methods for all activities.
  • Analyze situations, forecast problems, evaluate options, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Ensure adherence to Fluor’s health, safety, environmental, and sustainability policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Basic Job Requirements
  • Craft certification, training, and experience appropriate for the assignment scope; directly related experience equal to fifteen (15) years.
  • Effective communication with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Job‑related technical knowledge necessary to complete the role.
  • Knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Attention to detail and time‑conscious work.
Other Job Requirements
  • Direct subordinate craft superintendents, general foremen, and foremen as needed.
  • Lead coordination of all activities within an active construction work area.
  • Implement indirect activities and support staff to ensure productive construction execution.
  • Ensure all work is within approved scope boundaries and complies with all relevant requirements.
  • Represent the company as the on‑site senior staff overseeing construction craftsmen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong customer service and client relations skills.
  • Interpersonal, conflict resolution, and decision‑making skills.
  • Basic computer and software proficiency (word processing, e‑mail, spreadsheets, presentations).
  • Functional proficiency in project controls, human relations, industrial relations, and contract management.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
