Job summary

Quanex seeks a Strip Mill Operator to blend and process compounds through the mill and batch-off within required specifications. The role emphasizes safe operation, attention to detail, and maintaining quality to optimize production efficiency.

The shift is 3rd shift, 10:45pm–7:00am, Sunday–Thursday, with a base pay of $18 per hour plus a $1.00/hour shift premium for 2nd/3rd shifts, along with benefits and growth opportunities at Quanex.

Qualifications

• One+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• High School or GED preferred.
• Willing to work overtime including weekends.
• Close visual work required.
• Knowledge of general computer skills.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Blend and process compounds through the mill and batch-off within specifications.
• Operate machinery safely and efficiently.
• Maintain quality control by monitoring production output.
• Identify issues with the product or process.
• Lift rubber stock off the mill and reband it on the mill.
• Feed rubber strips onto the take-off belt located three feet away.
• Communicate with other staff and complete safety checklists.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining compound processing procedures.
