Job summary

WireCo is seeking a Stranding Operator to set up, load and operate the stranding machine, ensuring strand quality meets specs while prioritizing safety and teamwork.

You will record setup data, load full bobbins, thread through guides, adjust dies and tension, and inspect equipment, maintaining a clean, safe environment. The role includes second shift, shift differential and a monthly incentive after probation.

Qualifications

• Must have math skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to use and read micrometers, tape measure, feeler gauge and basic hand tools.
• Stand/walk on concrete for 12-hour shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up information at the start of each order.
• Load full bobbins using appropriate devices.
• Weld or knot new wire to old wire in the machine when applicable.
• Thread machine by pulling wire through guides and stranding heads.
• Secure, install and adjust dies, stranding head, post-former and carboloy rings.
• Set lay per order specifications and twist wires into the strand.
• Adjust bobbin tension and die pressure as required and inspect tensioning devices.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment and follow quality standards.
