Job summary

You will support the department manager in meeting sales goals and uphold quality assurance standards across the department. Key duties include assisting customers, stocking and labeling merchandise, monitoring product freshness, and communicating safety and supply issues to management.

Responsibilities

• Gain and maintain product knowledge to respond to questions and suggest items.
• Recommend grocery items and inform customers of specials.
• Check product quality and monitor freshness; review sell by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide fresh products ordered by customers.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
• Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions; notify management.
• Practice preventive maintenance and notify about repairs.
• Notify management of accidents and report safety risks or fraud.
