Job summary

Defendify is seeking a Level 1 SOC Analyst for its Security Operations Center in Portland, Maine. This full-time, third-shift, in-office role involves monitoring security alerts, investigating suspicious activity, and escalating incidents as needed.

The analyst will work from playbooks, learn from senior team members, and contribute to improving alert handling and documentation. You will review logs, assess evidence, and support handoffs to ensure continuous customer protection.

Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or related field, or equivalent hands-on training and experience.
• Understanding of core cybersecurity concepts, threats, and attack techniques.
• Familiarity with SIEM platforms, endpoint protection, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and antivirus tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and triage cybersecurity alerts and events across customer environments.
• Review logs and context to identify suspicious patterns and when to escalate.
• Document findings, dispositions, and evidence for each case.

Education

Associate's degree in cybersecurity or related field
