Job summary

Providence Mission - Laguna Beach Hospital in Laguna Beach, CA, is seeking a Senior Laboratory Assistant for the Clinical Laboratory. This per-diem, 8-hour night-shift role focuses on blood collection and processing across patient groups, including neonates to geriatrics.

The successful candidate will inoculate microbiology specimens and prepare referrals as needed. Minimum CA Phlebotomy Technician I or II license required, with preferred 1 year of phlebotomy experience.

Qualifications

• California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I License, or California Certified Phlebotomy Technician II License.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process blood specimens for neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric in-patients and ER patients.
• Assist with outpatient specimen collection and processing as needed.
• Inoculate microbiology specimens onto primary media and prepare specimens for referral testing.
• Perform required competency assessments and maintain proficiency.
