Job summary

Allied Universal in Edison, NJ is seeking a Security Officer for full-time visitor screening. You will serve clients across manufacturing and industrial sites, maintain a welcoming, secure environment, and screen personnel and visitors while monitoring access points.

You will verify IDs, respond to incidents, conduct patrols, and support daily operations with professional communication and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen may be required.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security procedures and emergency responses when appropriate.
• Screen personnel, visitors, deliveries, and authorized items at entry points.
• Verify identification and direct individuals to check-in areas or contacts.
• Respond to incidents and escalation according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of screening areas and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
