Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense in Burbank, CA is seeking a Night Shift CNC Swiss Machinist to fabricate precision parts on a Swiss CNC center. You will setup, run, and inspect parts up to 12 inches, following work orders, blueprints, and routers.

The role requires at least 5 years CNC operation, Swiss machining experience, GD&T knowledge, and the ability to troubleshoot on the shop floor. A 2nd shift premium applies, with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in CNC operation with setup experience.
• Minimum 2 year experience operating a Swiss style machining center.
• Experience with Citizen A20, L20 or M32 machines a plus.
• Experience with STAR Swiss machines plus.
• Dual spindle lathe and 5 axis milling experience a plus.
• General knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading and inspection tools.
• Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Strong verbal and written communication; work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Complete tool, fixture, and material setup on CNC Swiss style machine.
• Run first piece article ready for inspection.
• Verify parts with precision measuring equipment.
• Change tools and offsets based on cutting conditions.
• Apply proper feed, speed, and cutting parameters for various materials.
• Revise programs per engineering or production changes.
• Troubleshoot CNC programming and shop-floor issues.
• Assist with related duties as required.

The position is for 2nd Shift and is in Burbank, CA.The CNC Swiss Machinist is responsible for fabricating precision-machined parts by setting up and operating a Swiss style CNC machining center per work orders, routers, & blueprints. Parts are smaller in size, 12” max. Ability to communicate with others effectively in both written and verbal fashion.Must be able to meet all ITAR background requirements and is a US Person.Physical Requirements:Must be able to stand for entire shift.Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs independently.Compensation:Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 per year paid at an hourly rate. Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
