TIC - The Industrial Company in Greenville, MS is seeking an entry-level helper to support skilled craftspersons on construction sites under direct supervision.

You will learn to read blueprints, identify tools, assist with scaffolding, and perform rigging, with emphasis on safety and following instructions.

The role requires physical work, ability to pass safety rules, and may require weekends or overtime; Driver's license may be needed.

Qualificações

Responsabilidades

• Learn to read blueprints and specifications to determine scope of work.
• Identify tools required for tasks and measure, mark, and cut materials to required specifications.
• Assist with erecting and disassembling scaffolding and installing ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
• Assist with construction and dismantling scaffolds.
• Assist with building wooden scaffolds and auxiliary items.
• Perform rigging of equipment loads.

Primary Responsibilities And Duties

• Learn to read blueprints and specification to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Learn to identify all tools required for tasks and measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
• Assist skilled craftsman to erect and disassemble scaffolding for buildings and other structures and installs ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
• Assist with construction, re-enforcement, and dismantling pre-constructed scaffolds.
• Assist with buildin and constructing wooden Scaffolds and auxiliary items.
• Perform work involving rigging of equipment loads.

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Must possess knowledge skills and abilities for position
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision
• Field experience in chosen craft discipline
• Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Requirements

• The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
• Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
• Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
• May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
• Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
• May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site
• Must have required tools
• Must pass Fit For Duty Testing
• U.S. Driver's License may be required
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing
