Job summary

Baldor Specialty Foods is seeking an entry-level Sanitor I to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across production and warehouse areas. You will support food safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations by following company procedures and safety guidelines.

No degree required; pay is $17.75 per hour. The role emphasizes attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities to learn sanitation procedures and GMP/HACCP practices.

Qualifications

• Prior sanitation, warehouse, janitorial, or food production experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse or production environment.
• Basic communication and teamwork skills required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Willingness to learn sanitation procedures, chemical handling, and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and sanitation of production equipment, floors, walls, racks, docks, and operational work areas.
• Follow established sanitation schedules, SOPs, SSOPs, and food safety requirements.
• Safely handle, mix, and prepare cleaning chemicals according to company procedures and safety standards.
• Operate approved sanitation equipment including scrubbers, power washers, hoses, vacuums, and cleaning tools.
• Maintain sanitation logs, cleaning checklists, and required documentation accurately and timely.
• Remove trash, debris, spills, and other waste materials to maintain a clean and organized facility.
• Support compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety, and regulatory sanitation requirements.
• Inspect work areas to identify sanitation concerns, equipment issues, or safety hazards and communicate findings to leadership.
• Ensure cleaning tools, equipment, and sanitation supplies are properly stored and maintained.
• Utilize required PPE and follow all workplace safety procedures and guidelines.
• Assist with facility preparation for audits, inspections, and operational readiness.
• Work collaboratively with operations, quality, and warehouse teams to maintain sanitation and safety standards.
• Perform additional sanitation and operational duties as assigned.
