Job summary

Baylor University Medical Center – Dallas, Texas is seeking an experienced Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner to provide trauma-informed care and perform specialized forensic examinations.

Role is PRN with on-call, primarily night shifts, requiring weekend and holiday availability. The RN will document thoroughly and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team including law enforcement and physicians.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of two years of professional RN experience.
• Current SANE-A or CA-SANE certification.
• Current Registered Nurse license.
• Current Basic Life Support certification, or ability to obtain BLS within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered, trauma-informed care to sexual assault patients.
• Perform comprehensive forensic examinations.
• Collect, document, and preserve forensic evidence in accordance with established standards.
• Coordinate care with physicians, advocates, law enforcement, and other members of the multidisciplinary response team.
• Provide appropriate follow-up care and patient education.
• Maintain accurate, thorough, and legally sound documentation.
• Participate in judicial proceedings and provide expert testimony when required.
