Job summary

You will assess, monitor, and adjust respiratory therapies, lead educational efforts for staff, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in an acute care setting.

The role emphasizes clinical excellence, adherence to protocols, and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an approved school of respiratory therapy.
• Experience in an acute care environment is required.
• Experience with blood gas laboratory management is preferred.
• Demonstrates strong communication and teaching abilities.
• Maintains high professional standards and thorough documentation.

Responsibilities

• Recommends changes in respiratory care plans based on medical necessity and protocols.
• Instructs and coaches patients before, during, and after treatment delivery.
• Adjusts therapies according to protocol using clinical data.
• Serves as a resource to staff and supervises student preceptorships.
• Initiates and maintains mechanical ventilation and reevaluates patient/ventilator settings every four hours.
