Job summary

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA, is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for the 1 East Surgery Unit (Orthopedics, Spine, Bariatrics). This full-time night shift runs 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

with rotating weekends, delivering high-quality, short-stay care. The RN Unit Coordinator leads nursing care delivery under the department manager, supports safety and workflow, and mentors staff through a comprehensive orientation and ongoing education, with a focus on excellent customer service and

Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN preferred.
• RN license required.
• BLS within 90 days of hire; ACLS within 90 days of hire.
• 18 months of acute care RN experience required.
• Experience in stroke and telemetry care preferred; charge nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership for nursing care in the assigned department.
• Under department manager, lead safety and quality initiatives and simplify workflow.
• Contribute to staff development with a comprehensive orientation and ongoing education.
• Enhance staff satisfaction and promote excellent customer service (Gold Standard).
