Job summary

Avera Majestic Bluffs/Avera Sister James Care Center is seeking a RN leader for a 12-hour night shift (6pm-6:30am) with every third weekend and holiday. You will oversee nursing staff, coordinate admissions and care plans, and ensure regulatory compliance while guiding the interdisciplinary team to improve resident outcomes.

The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration with physicians and staff, and adherence to infection control and quality improvement standards in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and day-to-day management. Guides staff in meeting needs of the residents.
• Coordinates admissions, discharges and transfers to and from the facility.
• Ensures completion of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) and care plans with the team.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy resident care environment per policies and regulations.
• Develops and leads QA/PI activities and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Directs staff orientation, training, and performance evaluations.
