Job summary

Universal Hospital Services Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time night shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) in Petersburg, VA. You will provide compassionate patient care, support recovery, and maintain a safe healing environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring patients, reporting to physicians, creating care plans with the team, and performing routine nursing procedures. A strong, calm presence and commitment to safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven RN experience.
• Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
• Strong emergency care skills and safety protocol knowledge.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient conditions and assess needs to deliver high-quality care.
• Observe symptoms and report to physicians clearly.
• Collaborate with the care team to create patient care plans.
• Perform routine nursing procedures (vital signs, injections, charting).
• Administer and adjust medications as ordered by physicians.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and equipment hygiene.
• Provide care during emergencies and mentor junior staff.
