Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Inpatient Pre-Op & PACU team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. The role focuses on pre-operative preparation and post-anesthesia recovery care within a Level I Trauma Center setting.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of RN experience, a Massachusetts RN license, and AHA BLS certification. This part-time night-shift position offers opportunities for advanced perioperative practice and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
Minimum 1 year RN experience required; ED/ICU/Pre-Op/PACU experience strongly preferred.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for surgical patients.
Prepare patients and families for procedures with education and assessment.
Provide post-anesthesia recovery care and monitor for changes in condition.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff for safe care.
Manage care in a high-acuity, fast-paced clinical environment.
Maintain accurate documentation per hospital policy.
