Job summary

Baystate Health in Springfield, MA is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Inpatient Pre-Op & PACU team at Baystate Medical Center. You will care for adult and pediatric surgical patients, collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia providers, and support high-acuity care across 12-hour night shifts.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts
• AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification
• Minimum 1 year RN experience; ED/ICU/Perioperative experience preferred
• Associate Degree in Nursing is required

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for adult and pediatric surgical patients.
• Prepare patients and families for surgical procedures through education and assessment.
• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care and monitor for changes in condition.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality care.
• Manage care in a high-acuity, fast-paced clinical environment.
• Maintain accurate documentation per hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Support patient safety, quality initiatives and positive patient experience outcomes.
