Job summary

OrthoNebraska in Nebraska is seeking an Extended Recovery RN to provide high-quality care for post-operative orthopedic patients requiring extended recovery or overnight care. You will monitor vitals, manage pain, assist mobility, and coordinate with surgeons and nurses to prepare patients for discharge, while maintaining safety and documentation in EMR.

The role requires Nebraska RN license and BLS/ACLS within 90 days, and offers a 0.9 FTE with three 12-hour night shifts plus weekend/holiday

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; RN license in Nebraska or compact state.
• BLS and ACLS certification to be acquired within 90 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Conduct post-operative nursing assessments and monitor patient condition.
• Manage pain and assist with mobility while ensuring safety and adherence to post-op restrictions.
• Administer medications per protocols and document interventions in the EMR.
• Identify signs of complications and intervene promptly to protect patient well-being.
• Communicate with patients and families about recovery expectations and education.
