Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Orthopedic/Med Surg unit at Springfield Regional Medical Center. The RN will provide nursing care within a multidisciplinary team using the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

Responsibilities include thorough patient assessments, education, medication administration, discharge planning, and collaboration with spiritual, palliative, and ethics supports.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state they are working or compact (required).
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred on hire; must obtain prior to direct patient care).
• Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification RN-BC (preferred).
• CCRN / PCCN / CMSRN / NIH Stroke Certification (preferred).
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan discharge or continuing care needs.
• Perform and document complete patient assessments and maintain care plans.
• Administer medications safely per state guidelines and policies.
• Coordinate patient care and advocate for safety, quality improvement, and patient education.
