Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Telemetry night shift position in Michigan. Active MI RN license required; compact license not accepted. Must have at least 2 years of Med Surg and Telemetry experience, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Active MI RN license required
• Compact license not accepted
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg and Telemetry experience required

Responsibilities

• 404-bed acute care hospital setting with specialty, primary, and preventative care services
• Med Surg unit with telemetry patient population
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Required to float to other units as part of a float pool
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments upon admission and monitor condition trends throughout hospital stay
• Prepare, administer, and chart prescribed medications including IVs, and manage wound care or specialized equipment
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on post-surgery care, medication schedules, and post-discharge instructions
• Recognize early signs of medical deterioration and respond swiftly to stabilize patients
• Navy blue scrub dress code required
• No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested during the assignment
• Local candidates accepted, with those residing within a 35 mile radius of the facility considered local travelers at a reduced pay rate
