Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a registered nurse for the Medical-Surgical Intermediate unit (CDH Med/Surg Intermediate 3C) to cover part-time night shifts (7pm–7:30am) with rotating weekends. The 26-bed unit emphasizes multidisciplinary rounds and high-acuity care and requires adherence to ANA nursing standards.

Applicants must hold an Illinois RN license and BLS; ADN is acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years.

Qualifications

• Requires IL RN license and active practice.
• BLS certification required or in place.
• ADN is acceptable with commitment to obtain BSN within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data to plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Directs care and manages nursing assistants as appropriate.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff; documents care plan.
• Participates in shared governance, committees and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses and updates the care plan based on findings.
• Utilizes evidence-based practices to guide nursing decisions.
