Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a dedicated RN for Med Surg on the night shift at UAB St. Vincent's Blount. The role emphasizes direct nursing care, care plan implementation, and coordination across disciplines to ensure cohesive patient care.

The ideal candidate holds a nursing diploma and is eligible for RN licensure in Alabama, with at least one year of nursing experience. BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing.
• One year of nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
