Job summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) 2 role at Concord Hospital Health System provides comprehensive nursing care for a defined patient population in a safe environment. The RN assesses needs, plans interventions, and executes care across the care continuum with a focus on patient-centered outcomes.

Reporting to the Director or Nurse Manager, the RN collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, administers medications, documents progress, and mentors new staff while guiding care delivery on the unit.

Qualifications

• One year prior clinical nursing experience.
• Evidence of the ability to perform as a member of a team.
• Evidence of experience working effectively with patients and the multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Bases nursing actions by applying purposeful, organized thinking to make clinical judgments.
• Gathers data through history and physical assessment to plan interventions.
• Develops and revises the plan of care based on patient needs.
• Documents care provided and patient progress toward outcomes.
• Directs and supervises others in delegated nursing activities.
• Teaches patients and significant others about the plan of care and discharge prep.
• Manages time and resources to deliver patient care.
• Administers medications to patients and provides direct care.
• Leads the health care team and serves as a resource on the shift.
• Precepts new employees and participates in required duties.
