Job summary

WVU Health System is seeking a professional registered nurse to deliver care in an inpatient hospital setting, using the nursing process with independent judgment. The role requires one year of nursing experience and active RN licensure with BLS within 30 days of hire.

The nurse will modify plans of care based on data, collaborate with the care team, and educate patients and families while ensuring quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state where services are provided or multi-state license via eNLC.
• BLS certification obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Modifies patient’s plan of care based on data collection and patient needs.
• Uses Evidence-Based Practice to provide patient care.
• Delegates according to scope of practice.
• Verifies the plan of care with interprofessional colleagues, patient, and caregiver(s).
• Provides education based on learning needs and family involvement.
• Promotes effective communication among interprofessional team members and patients.
• Influences policy to promote safe patient care.
• Utilizes resources to provide care, especially in sensitive situations.
