Job summary

Alton Memorial Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Care Unit. Open to ADN, BSN, and MSN candidates, this role offers a stable night shift schedule of (3) 12‑hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, with up to a $15,000 sign‑on bonus for eligible external candidates.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree required.
• RN license required.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on disease management, home care needs, and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance; participates in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs; respects patient values and cultural needs.
• This is a safety‑sensitive position requiring constant alertness and safe work practices.
