Job summary

BJC HealthCare in East Alton, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Med Surg on the night shift. You will work 3 × 12‑hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with shift differentials for nights, weekends, and holidays, plus a BSN differential consideration.

Open to ADN, BSN, and MSN candidates, with sign‑on bonus up to $15,000 for eligible external candidates and comprehensive benefits including PTO from Day 1, parental leave, and opportunities for professional growth via the BJC RN Career

Qualifications

• Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate's Degree (ADN) required.
• Licensure: RN in good standing in the state.
• No prior work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Promote patient- and family-centered care in a healing environment.
• Educate patients and families on post-treatment care, medications, and home care needs.
• Participate in activities that support patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
• Ensure clear communication of the care plan across the continuum of care.
• Apply critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, as per standards of care.
• Assess patient preferences, barriers to care, and cultural and spiritual needs.
• Maintain a constant state of alertness and work safely, as this is a safety-sensitive position.
