Qualifications

• Current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Georgia.
• CPR certification is required.
• Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Able to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance including background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic RN nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assess physical, psychological, and social dimensions; obtain health history and write admission assessments.
• Document triage decisions during custody and discharge to the health care provider.
• Develop individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with health care providers.
• Implement medical care plans including diagnostic tests and EKGs as ordered.
• Administer medications using proper techniques and routes, including nutrition plans.
• Assist physicians in medical or minor surgical procedures as needed.
