Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 12-hour night shift (7:00pm to 7:00am) in a Critical Care/ICU environment. This full-time position requires an active RN license, BLS, ACLS and PALS/ENPC within specified timelines, and at least one year in an acute care setting.

The role emphasizes triage accuracy, direct patient care, life-saving interventions, and patient education for families.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license is required.
• BLS certification on hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• PALS certification and/or ENPC within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients upon arrival and prioritize care according to triage protocols.
• Provide direct care, including medications administration, wound care, monitoring vitals and pain management.
• Stabilize patients and assist with ACLS, PALS, trauma care as needed.
• Manage high-stress, rapidly changing situations and provide care to multiple patients.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment options and discharge plans.
