Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO is seeking a Cardiac Med Intermediate RN for a 24-hour-per-week night shift in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The PCU handles intermediate acuity, primarily cardiac and select respiratory cases, without vents.

Strong assessment skills and teamwork are essential to coordinate care with the ICU-like intensity while avoiding ICU admission. Candidates must graduate from an accredited nursing program and hold an RN license in the hiring state or a compact

Qualifications

• Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Must maintain current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain patient rights and confidentiality.
• Evaluates care effectiveness and coordinates patient care with other departments.
• Works on a fast-paced PCU requiring strong assessment and teamwork.
• Provides care for cardiac, respiratory, and septic conditions with high acuity but no ventilators.
