Job summary

McLaren Health Care, anchored by the Karmanos Cancer Institute in Michigan, seeks a night-shift Registered Nurse in the General Surgery unit. The role requires evaluating patients, planning care, teaching patients, and supervising ancillary staff. Current Michigan RN licensure and specialty-cert requirements apply.

Scheduled 7:00pm–7:30am, full-time, with no on-call duties. ACLS/NRP/PALS/TNCC certifications are expected per unit requirements within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience in a specialty area preferred; unit-specific competency may be required.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• ACLS within six months of hire for designated units (Critical Care, Emergency, Endoscopy, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab, ICU, Step-Down, Telemetry).
• NRP for Labor and Delivery; PALS for Pediatrics; TNCC within one year for Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Assess each patient, document and evaluate response to the plan of care; take corrective action.
• Plan and implement the patient’s plan of care and provide patient teaching.
• Oversee all ancillary personnel for technical tasks.
